Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 2026

Lidprex Labs operates the Oathkeeper application. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our software.

1. Data Collection

Oathkeeper is a locally-run application. All data you enter (blocked websites, applications, keywords, punishment settings, email configurations) is stored locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your data on external servers.

2. Email Feature

If you configure the Accountability Email feature, your device sends emails directly from your Gmail account to your chosen recipient via Google's SMTP servers. Lidprex Labs does not process these emails. We have no access to your email credentials or sent messages. Credentials are encrypted using Windows DPAPI and stored locally.

3. Screenshots

Screenshots captured during violations are stored locally in BMP format at C:\ProgramData\Oathkeeper\screenshots\. They are only transmitted if you configure the email feature. We do not access or store these screenshots.

4. Hosts File Modification

Oathkeeper modifies your system's hosts file to block websites. This is a local change. The original file is backed up and restored on uninstall.

5. Log Files

Oathkeeper may create local log files at C:\ProgramData\Oathkeeper\logs\ for debugging. These remain on your device and are deleted on uninstall.

6. Network Communication

The only network communication Oathkeeper performs is: sending emails via Gmail SMTP (if configured), DNS resolution for website blocking, and future update checks. No telemetry, usage statistics, or analytics are transmitted.

7. Open Source

Oathkeeper is open-source under GNU GPL v3. You may audit the source code at any time at github.com/Lidprex/Oathkeeper.
